The latest edition of Gurman’s “Power On” newsletter for Bloomberg reveals an ambitious roadmap for Apple’s product launches in the coming months.
The highlight of Apple’s fall product release schedule will apparently be two new models of the Apple Watch Series 9, codenamed N207 and N208. Successors to the well-received Series 8, these smartwatches are predicted to come with advanced design enhancements and superior functionality.
Also in the offing is a refreshed Apple Watch Ultra. Targeted at professional athletes and trainers, this advanced watch model is set to elevate Apple’s reputation in the fitness tech arena. While Gurman has not detailed the specific features of the upcoming watches, industry observers speculate that Apple might retain the current design of the Apple Watch Ultra, as it is relatively new in the product line.
For the Series 9 models, Apple may focus on integrating improved sensors and extending fitness and health tracking capabilities. There is also talk of a faster S9 chip, likely based on the A15 Bionic chip, which would bring substantial improvements in performance and battery life.
Known for its larger display, the Apple Watch Ultra’s unique customizable Action Button is its standout feature. Rumors suggest this versatile function, which can be personalized according to user preference, may also be featured in the forthcoming iPhone 15 Pro models, replacing the traditional Mute Switch.
In addition to the exciting Apple Watch series, Gurman’s report mentions a host of other upcoming Apple products. These include an M3-equipped 13-inch MacBook Pro, upgraded MacBook Pro models with M3 Pro and M3 Max in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes, new MacBook Air models, and revamped iPad Pro models featuring OLED displays. An updated iPad Air with an M2 chip and an enhanced Apple TV are also on the cards.
Apple’s upcoming smartwatch models are expected to deliver advanced features, better fitness and health tracking capabilities, and potentially faster performance, raising anticipation among Apple aficionados.
