Just in case you aren't already starving yourself today in preparation for eating the huge turkey dinner on Thanksgiving, Apple released their newest ad aimed at making us hunger for the meal even more. The ad highlights Shared Photo Streams, something that is perhaps lost amidst all the other fantastic, and not so fantastic, elements of iOS 6.
Shared Photo Streams allows users to set up photos they want to share with friends and family in its own stream. You can select the photos, add them to a stream, and send it to the friends and family you know would appreciate it. They can then comment on the photos just like they would in a social network setting like Facebook, except that it's private and just between the people who were on the invite list.
Apple must have realized that we have forgotten about this new feature, as we're too busy using the new Siri features and complaining about the new Maps app and the loss of the YouTube app. They have a new commercial out called simply, “Turkey.” It shows pictures of a family Thanksgiving, and a user sharing those pictures, assumably with loved ones who were either at the meal or not able to attend.
It definitely has me in the mood for a Thanksgiving dinner, and I don't even care for turkey that much. I just want the mashed potatoes and gravy. And a little pumpkin pie wouldn't hurt either.
Watch the video to see how to use Photo Stream … that is if you can get past the scrumptious food enough to watch the “How To” sequence.
