Apple Starts Shipping 15-Inch MacBook Pro Touch Bar Models

The public should start getting their hands on Touch Bar-equipped MacBook Pro models from Monday, judging from several delivery notifications reported by people who had ordered some from Apple.

9to5Mac reports that several of its readers, plus other sources online, report having received these notifications from Apple or the package delivery firm UPS. Nonetheless, the news site says that all notifications it has so far seen have been for 15-inch models.

This suggests that Apple is prioritizing getting the 15-inch models out of the door first, though the 13-inch units will “likely” start shipping soon, 9to5Mac adds. This is not least because both the 15- and 13-inch models had the same expected delivery times of 2-3 weeks when first launched.

It was at the same time that Apple also made a new 13-inch MacBook Pro sans Touch Bar available for order. However, this has been readily dispatchable for a while now, likely due to the smaller level of excitement surrounding, and therefore presumably less customer demand for, that machine.

People unpacking Touch Bar MacBook Pro units next week will be able to swiftly start using that dynamic OLED strip for various Apple apps, while numerous third party developers have announced Touch Bar support for their own macOS apps – including Microsoft for its Office productivity suite.
