Apple has hired a former Hulu executive to explore bundling options for its TV+ service.

In an effort to better compete with the likes of Netflix and Amazon Prime, Apple has made it clear that it wants to increase the amount of content it can offer on its new streaming service.

Though originally the company wanted everything to be homegrown and exclusive, the firm has since changed its tact and acquired some third-party content to stream on the platform.

Now, Apple wants to launch a services bundle in October, bringing together Music, TV+, News+, and Arcade under one monthly fee, akin to Amazon Prime, to entice new users.

A new report from The Telegraph has revealed that Apple has hired Tim Connolly, who has previous experience in negotiating with brands to increase sales.

When he worked at Hulu, he forged a relationship with Spotify to offer Hulu to customers at no extra cost. Though it’s unknown exactly what role he’ll play at Apple, it’s likely it will involve forging partnerships.

Apple has already announced Showtime and CBS bundles and discounts to bring more users to TV+, and there have been suggestions that Apple wants to enter into live TV, too.

The news comes at a time when the organization is ramping up its recruitment to ensure the success of Apple TV+. Over the summer, Apple poached a former Amazon Video exec to head a new sports division, and it has been reported Apple could buy a sports network.
