Do you enjoy trying to chip a ball onto the green, but hate all the other Golf stuff in between? Flick Golf! might just be the perfect game for you. This clever touch Golf title takes away all the long, drawn out, fairways and instead provides you with just a tee and a green.
It’s your job to flick the ball so that it lands as close to the tee as possible. You even get bonus points for sinking a hole-in-one. The game measures your score for each shot by way of a “ring system.” Four rings, spaced evenly apart from the center of the hole, measure point values between 200 and 500. Varying game modes decide how points are tallied up and what applicable bonuses you can receive.
You’ll have more control over the ball than just your initial flick, too. Once the ball is flying through the air you can swipe at it with your finger. Put a little backspin on it, roll it forward, curve it in the air, whatever you have to do to get it to the pin. It’s all about ball control, and in true casual form, it gives you a chance to save your initial shot from utter disaster.
There are three game modes here for you to conquer, and a variety of levels. The Quick Shot game mode has you flicking as many shots as you can towards the pin, in an allotted time. Be careful though; you’ll lose points for every shot you miss outright. If you’re looking for a real challenge you can try Quick Shot Pro. This mode operates just like the original Quick Shot, but ups the wind difficulty and point requirements while lowering the amount of time allotted for each level. There’s also a game mode for all you casual players who just want to play and relax. World Tour removes the timer and instead gives you nine shots to complete a level. This allows you to take your time, and enjoy all the Golfing goodness.
You can grab Flick Golf! for free, right now from the App Store. Challenge your friends to high scores, or just play a few relaxing holes while you’re stuck waiting somewhere. This is a great time-killer, and a great way to get that golfing bug out of our system without purchasing expensive clubs and anger management sessions.
