Optical Image Stabilization Heading to 4.7-Inch iPhone 7?

While optical image stabilization is currently limited to the 5.5-inch models when it comes to the iPhone, Nomura Securities analyst Chris Chang believes that this feature will be present in the 4.7-inch iPhone 7.

Chang has made this prediction in a note made public this week. In the iPhone 6S Plus, optical image stabilization – or OIS for short – can ensure more accurate photos and videos by automatically adjusting the camera sensor to prevent any shakiness of the shooter adversely affecting what is captured.

OIS is also present in the still available iPhone 6 Plus – but strictly for photos. Neither the iPhone 6 nor iPhone 6S, the existing two 4.7-inch models, come with OIS in any form, which makes Chang’s prediction especially notable.

Meanwhile, both Nomura Securities and Citi Research have followed KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo in predicting that all models of the iPhone 7 Plus will feature a dual-lens camera. Previously, it had been thought that this camera might be limited to particular models of the next 5.5-inch iPhone.
