Rumored Larger Displays for iPhone 16 Pro Models Corroborated by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman

In his recent “Power On” newsletter, Gurman echoed previous reports suggesting that Apple plans to enhance the size of its premium iPhone models by a “couple tenths of an inch diagonally”. The devices currently come in at 6.1 and 6.7 inches.

Gurman asserted that the changes would allow Apple’s top-tier smartphones to better compete with Samsung’s comparable devices. The larger size would also potentially create extra internal space for advanced hardware upgrades, such as camera technology enhancements and larger batteries.

Earlier in May, display expert Ross Young revealed that the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max would feature displays measuring 6.3 and 6.9 inches respectively, an approximate increase of 0.2 inches. This rumor was subsequently backed up by Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and Twitter leaker “Unknownz21”, who even provided supposed internal model numbers for the devices.

The two regular iPhone 16 models are not expected to see a similar increase in display size, as the change seems to be confined to the Pro models.
