Paris-based Company Offers First VR Dedicated Service

We’re all guilty of wanting to try out the newest VR headsets. Even if you’re satisfied with a TV or PC monitor, the immersion you can get with the likes of Oculus Rift and PlayStation VR are leading the way in video-game technology.

Mk2, a Paris-based cinema chain is offering patrons the opportunity to try out virtual reality headsets for a variety of games without paying full price for VR headsets. As alluring as VR is, many VR headsets are too expensive for many people to justify buying them. Mk2 offers 40-minute play sessions for just $25.

This is for those who have been curious about the latest tech craze but don’t have enough money to invest. The VR Experience covers a range of headsets, including Oculus Rift, PlayStation VR and HTC Vive.

They offer games such as Star Wars Battlefront: Mission X-Wing VR, The Climb and many more. The facility also – very fittingly – allows screenings of VR films.

Apparatus is available that lets users lie flat with your arms outstretched like a bird to play the motion simulator Birdly. Mk2 and other chains to come after it could be the boost that VR needs to bring it into the mainstream.
