Android 5.0 Lollipop “Unusable” Say Some Early Downloaders

If you’ve downloaded Android latest 5.0 operating system, you might be faced with disappointment.

The update has been rolled out to a number of users so far, with some Nexus 7 tablet owners saying that their devices have become “unusable”. Another problem apparently involves apps built with Adobe Air being removed, with users finding it impossible to re-install them. Adobe says that it has been in touch with Google about the issue.

Android 5.0 is also known as Lollipop and has been branded a “quantum leap forward” by Google. It has been met with glowing reviews, despite the initial problems being reported. Lollipop includes a revamped interface, allows users to enjoy greater notification control and apparently involves fewer glitches. It is yet to be given a full roll-out as various manufacturers and network operators haven’t tested it fully.

It is available to Nexus device owners, who can download it from Google’s website. Nexus 7 owners can download it over-the-air. The new update has been designed with smartwatches in mind as well as tablets and smartphones. Motorola, Nvidia and Motorola have released updates for a number of their devices. Problems with text messages, contact management and Wi-Fi connectivity have also been reported.

Have you downloaded Android 5.0 Lollipop? Have you experienced any of the above issues or is everything running like clockwork? Give us your comments below.
