Apple Accused of ‘Shrinking’ Memory

Apple may be facing legal action after being accused of failing to tell iPhone users how much memory was required by the iOS operating system. A lawsuit is claiming that iOS 8 takes up so much space that those who use the operating system are being left with much less memory than the company have been advertising.

Apple haven’t issued an official comment regarding the lawsuit, which has been filed by Miami men Paul Orshan and Christopher Endara. The men say that the operating system can take up almost a quarter of the advertised memory of certain Apple devices. Those upgrading from iOS 7 to 8 can lose up to 1.3 GB of storage space, according to the papers filed as part of the lawsuit.

The pair claim that the lack of internal memory available after upgrading means that iPhone users are being forced to use Apple’s iCloud storage system – which they have to pay for. The lawsuit is targeting millions of dollars in damages from the tech giant. The first upgrade was released then with drawn before being rolled out again after some iPhone 6 and Plus users found they were unable to make calls. Apple apologized but claimed only 40,000 users were affected.

Do you agree with the lawsuit or do you think Apple are innocent? Should people simply expect iOS 8 to take up so much space? Let us know below.
