Launched initially in most countries in March 2023, Apple Music Classical now brings its extensive library to a broader audience in East Asia.
The app, distinct from the standard Apple Music service, is tailored specifically for classical music enthusiasts. It offers over five million tracks in the genre, encompassing both new high-quality releases and classic compositions.
Additionally, users have access to hundreds of expertly curated playlists, thousands of exclusive albums, and informative features like detailed composer biographies and in-depth analyses of major works.
Designed with a user-friendly interface, Apple Music Classical simplifies the exploration of classical music. It enables searches by composer, work, conductor, and catalog number, and provides rich editorial notes and descriptions for an enhanced understanding of the pieces.
Customers in China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao can now pre-order the app on the App Store. In the United States, a standard subscription to Apple Music is priced at $10.99 per month.
The introduction of Apple Music Classical is a result of Apple’s acquisition of the classical music streaming service Primephonic in 2021.
This strategic move allowed Apple to integrate Primephonic’s offerings into its own music service, creating a specialized app for the classical genre.
