Apple has been named the most popular smartwatch manufacturer among customers in market research company J.D. Power’s 2016 Smartwatch Device Satisfaction Report.
The report measured the satisfaction of 2,696 customers who, during the past year, bought a smartwatch. J.D. Power also considered how different companies fared – as judged by customers – in factors including the ease of use, comfort, price, battery life, reliability and appearance of their smartwatches.
Overall, Apple scored 852 out of 1000 for satisfaction, along with a five out of five Power Circle Rating. Samsung was runner-up, with a score of 842 and two out of five Power Circle Rating. The next three best performers were Sony, Fitbit and LG, with respective scores of 840, 839 and 827.
Last July, a few months after the Apple Watch first hit the market, research firm Wristly found the wearable to command a highly impressive customer satisfaction rating of 97%. That the Apple Watch has continued to attain high ratings so long after its initial release bodes well for the second generation Apple Watch…
That wearable, recent rumor suggests, could arrive alongside the iPhone 7 this fall and come with GPS and swimming tracking features.
