Every technology company that is big today started in very modest circumstances before it developed its operations. It’s something that Google is well aware of, having embarked on construction of “campuses” in various parts of the world intended to help entrepreneurs to get ahead.
Mary Grove, director of Google for Entrepreneurs, told the international news agency Agence France-Presse that Google “began as a startup in a garage 17 years ago and really believe in empowering the next generation of startups”. She cited the ultimate aim of the campuses as “to foster entrepreneurship all over the world”, enthusing that Google has tools that can help startups thrive.
Four startup nurturing facilities have already been opened by Google for Entrepreneurs, the latest in Madrid just last month. The first of these campuses opened in London about three years ago, before further openings in Tel Aviv and Seoul. Google is also eyeing Warsaw and Sao Paulo for campus openings later in 2015.
