British electropop singer-songwriter Charli XCX will have her own ongoing show on Apple’s Beats 1 radio station from this Friday. The news comes on the same day that the “Break The Rules” hit-maker announced that she was launching her own label, Vroom Vroom Recordings.
The news of Charli’s regular radio slot was reported by Pitchfork and then confirmed on the official Beats 1 Twitter page. According to that page, the show will be called The Candy Shop and debut at 12pm Pacific Time, 3pm Eastern Time and 8pm UK time on Friday.

In a press release, Charli dubbed Vroom Vroom Recordings “an experimental pop label [which] will combine my love for bubblegum pop with mystery and darkness.” The label’s first release will be the Vroom Vroom EP, which Charli has worked on in collaboration with SOPHIE and will be released on March 25 and streamable from Friday.
It was in October that the EP’s title track played on Beats 1, which broadcasts right around the clock to users of Apple Music on iOS, OS X, Android and desktop Windows.
