Matt Reeves’ย The Batman starring Robert Pattinson as the titular her is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated movies of 2022 (if it doesn’t get delayed once more). After several reshoots, the movie seems to be complete, with post-production being actively done. Rumors state that the film is around three hours long (although it is not known whether it’s a director’s cut or a final cur, i.e., whether Warner Bros. will demand additional cuts) and those that have been lucky to see the movie seem to be more than satisfied with Reeves’ work in Gotham City.
Theย Cloverfield and Planet of the Apes director took on the role from Ben Affleck and drastically changed the whole concept with a younger Batman and a more dark, gritty tale of the Dark Knight than Affleck had originally intended. The movie’s main villain is said to be the Riddler, played by Paul Dano, but other villains such as the Penguin (Colin Farrell), Catwoman (Zoรซ Kravitz), and Carmine Falcone (John Turturro) are set to appear, although this might just be a rough list of everything that’s to come.
The first trailer was released back in August 2020, with the most people praising the short teaser of what’s to come. Now that the March 2022 release date is approaching fast, Warner Bros. confirmed that a new trailer forย The Batman would be released in October 2021, during the DC FanDome 2021 event. Last year’s FanDome was a great experience that showed us what we can expect from DC in the future and the schedule for this year’s edition likewise promises a lot.
Now, the exact date and time for the trailer’s release have not been specified, but knowing that the DC FanDome begins on October 16, 2021, gives us a rough estimate on when the trailer is supposed to come out. We do expect a new dark and gritty look into Reeves’ Gotham City, a lot from Robert Pattinson and the crew, and – of course – no additional delays!
